Overview
Spot VMs are Google Compute Engine instances that are available at a 60-91% discount compared to the price of standard VMs. They are suitable for batch jobs and fault-tolerant workloads. If Compute Engine requires the capacity for standard VMs, it may preempt Spot VMs with a 30-second notification. They can be used with Managed Instance Groups to recreate instances after preemption.
